Our research aims to identify blanket bogs globally and to understand the range of characteristics of this important habitat.

We have taken over 5,000 peat depth measurements to map the blanket bogs that we are studying and this will help use to estimate how much carbon this habitat stores.

Water is key for blanket bog formation and that is why our team is mapping the hydrological units, to better understand the connections between them and also with other habitats!
